Canoe Expeditions

Canoe tripping is a popular way to enjoy lakes and rivers, whether it is a few days or a few hours. Desert Adventures offers daily tours at Lake Mead and Willow Beach, as well as canoeing on the Colorado river below Hoover Dam.

Multi-day river trips are the best way to experience all the magic the canyon has to offer. Enjoy a freshly prepared meal around a crackling campfire, watch the sunset from the bank of the river, and awake to the smell of fresh ground coffee.

Canoes allow us to carry luxuries that kayaks don't afford. There is room for comfy plush sleeping pads, roomy tents, and ice chests to keep foods fresh and drinks cold. This is especially important during summer months when temperatures soar.

Our guides favor canoes for overnight trips for several reasons. These boats are stable, easy to load, and have a comfortable seating position (which is great if you have bad knees or back aches). If you are nervous, don't worry - we can show you how to paddle efficiently as a team, with good communication and proper technique

The Bighorn Classic is our most popular trip and great for most ages.  Families with children younger than 12 will probably do best on the Ringbolt Run adventure, while the Eldorado Gold trip is best suited for adults.

NOTE:  Hoover Dam launches require the purchase of a $32 non-refundable permit to access the launch site.  Call us for availability and to purchase.
