D. has traveled the world, living in 23 countries before the age of 16. Her youth was structured, growing up in a large and loving family. She was surrounded by nine brothers in a tight-knit family that loved adventure.

Her first outdoor adventure memory is camping at Mt. Shasta by the lake. Her favorite thing to do while hiking is viewing wildflowers in the spring. The craziest thing she’s experienced in the outdoors is having a mountain lion step over her as she slept in her sleeping bag.

She’s most inspired by her maternal grandmother who was born in 1898. “She was an adventurous flapper, who left home to become a nurse.”

When asked what it feels like to work at Desert Adventures she said “I feel appreciated, and encouraged to learn, grow and have fun.” A perfect day off for D. would be sleeping in, cooking for friends and family, eating, drinking and laughing.
