WHITE ROCK CANYON BACKPACKING
Two great days of backpacking, exploring and hot spring soaking, topped with a night sleeping under the stars.
About the Experience
If you only have a few days to experience nature, check out this two-day backpacking trip near Lake Mead. Hike down a volcanic canyon which leads you to steamy hot springs where you can sit and relax. What better way is there to spend a few days in Las Vegas?
Giant boulders present obstacles, and as you maneuver your way around them, tiny trickles of hot springs start to reveal themselves. Ancient petroglyphs are carved into the walls, and depending on your route, you may be able to see them if you watch closely.
You will descend nearly 1300' in elevation before reaching your destination. Springtime brings colorful wildflowers, and fall and winter temperatures give the hot springs an ethereal feel as steam rises from the surface.
Pitch your tent on the beach or in the canyon, and enjoy a hard-earned meal before retiring to a pool for a long soak. The hot water relaxes tired muscles and washes all your cares away. Warm and toasty, crawl into your fluffy sleeping bag to drift asleep under the stars.
Morning brings crisp air and a fresh new day. Relax and enjoy breakfast before packing up camp and heading back up the trail toward civilization.
This tour package for two includes a hotel room in historic Boulder City at the newly remodeled Best Western, along with breakfast at the Southwest Diner. The hotel is within walking distance of local shops, brew pubs, and restaurants.
